I did a group of drawings while visiting Florida and decided to put them together onto an 11x17" piece of paper to make one cut and fold into a book. This project has been simply to give these little books away to whoever is interested. It‚s a sampler of the worlds and beings that populate my work. I have no big intellectual ideas. I just love making work and it comes very naturally and through me... so I let it come and work with it.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I grew up in small towns in Minnesota and started undergrad at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul MN which was great. I knew I needed something different and bigger so I moved to Brooklyn NY a few years ago to continue and finish my undergrad studies at the School of Visual Arts. Now, I am constantly exploring with my artwork and am also persuing my study of Buddhism and meditation.



STATEMENT

Digested with my feelings and intuition
is the city, spaces, sidewalks, people and clouds I see.
When I put them on the page unconsciously
I don‚t know what they are,
except a result of this constant digestive process.
This is being naked,
letting the viewer see what is beneath and inside.
I may see something in these,
pictures of hands, angels, cats, flowers, caves.
I may not,
shapes and lines interact with each other.
Whether I see pictures or not
these are specific and recognizable,
but only in the way I interact with them.
Because I've never seen a place like this.
