PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS A HOME PAGE
"Portrait of the Artist as a Home Page" examines the easy narcissism
of the internet. Using myriad personal homepages as its source material,
"Portrait..." can be thought of as a documentary of the home
page genre. Text colors, background images, and most importantly the images
themselves are all culled from actual home pages and websites. These multiple
portraits illuminate and reconstruct self-presentation on the internet.
