GOETZ EICHHOFF



Hauptgueterbahnhof is now a huge empty space in the gallus-area close to the Frankfurt-fair. About 4 years ago hauptgueterbahnhof (rail-cargo-station) was knocked down. The township of Frankfurt am Main was eager to realize the construction of an urban-entertainment-center on this site. So when the hauptgueterbahnhof was knocked down some of the speakers installed above the platforms could be saved. In the economic decline of the late 90ies there was no investor to be found for the realization of the uec. Meanwhile other plans for the development of the described site - for instance getting the olympic games 2012 into frankfurt - seem to fail. But finally on 27th of july in 2002, 6 p.m., the uec will be realized. Not on the huge site in the gallus-area, but in a tiny place inside the apartment building behind the exhibition space "portikus". That is because none of the plans works but the mentioned speakers still do.



HOW TO LOCATE

See the place (Lange Straße 2) in Frankfurt am Main on 27th of july 2002 (saturday), 6 p.m. and later on this night, and you will find your way to the hauptgueterbahnhof-uec in the 8th floor.
